University of Wyoming socer senior Taylor Burton was selected to the NCAA Division I Women's All-Pacific Region First Team late Tuesday, becoming the first Cowgirl to ever make the all-regional first team.

Burton had previously been honored as Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team all-conference selection. She also made program history by becoming the first Cowgirl to be chosen as conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Under Burton's leadership the Cowgirls recorded a program-best eight shutouts in consecutive seasons and tied the second-best number of wins in program history with 12, in addition to earning a share of the Mountain West Conference championship.
