Wyoming soccer wins regular season finale

The University of Wyoming soccer team closed its home slate in style, defeating Utah State 2-1 on Sunday at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex in Laramie.

Savannah Warner broke a 1-all tie with a goal off an assist from Indianna Asimus in the 44th minute to help the Cowgirls (6-6-4, 3-5-1 Mountain West) end a three-game winless streak.

Wyoming grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute when Summer Taube scored off an assist from Keelie Wortmann. The Aggies (6-9-1, 1-6-1 MW) tied the game in the 25th.

The Cowgirls finish the regular season with three road games, beginning Friday at UNLV.
