The University of Wyoming tennis team opened its 2019 season by going 2-1 over the weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Cowgirls got things started Saturday with a 6-0 victory over Oral Roberts. On Sunday, Wyoming defeated Louisiana Tech 7-0 before falling to No. 22 Tulsa 7-0.

Senior Tessa van Der Ploeg won her No. 1 singles match Saturday and went 1-1 in No. 2 singles on Sunday. She teamed with senior Elisa Koonik in No. 1 doubles to go 2-1 on the weekend.

The Cowgirls are back in action next Sunday when they take on No. 9 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
