The University of Wyoming women's cross-country team finished fifth at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational on Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Freshman Katelyn Mitchem paced the Cowgirls, placing 16th with a time of 22 minutes, 6.7 seconds. Rounding out the scoring for Wyoming were juniors Ashley Bock (20th in 22:14.9) and Kacey Doner (22nd in 22:17.7), and seniors Emily Person (32nd in 22:43.6) and Kiah Leonard (48th in 23:14.3).

The Cowgirls return to action Oct. 6 when they will compete at the Roadrunner Invite in Denver.
