The University of Wyoming's Lainee Jones was named the Mountain West Women's Swimmer of the Week (Sept. 14-Oct. 7) on Tuesday.

Jones helped the Cowgirls to a dual victory over Northern Colorado on Sept. 20 when she won the 200 freestyle, finished third in the 100 free and swam the first leg on the winning 400 free relay team.

Saturday at the Denver Relays, the freshman from Pueblo, Colorado, swam on three winning relay teams -- 3x300 free, 500 crescendo and 400 free -- as Wyoming finished second.

Jones and the Cowgirls return to action Friday when they host New Mexico State at Corbett Pool.
