The University of Wyoming women's swimming and diving team heads to San Antonio, Texas, this week to compete in the Mountain West Championship.

Leading the way for the Cowgirls in the pool is senior Maria Harutjunjan, the defending MW champ and conference record holder in the 100 breaststroke. Harutjunjan enters the MW Championship with the second-fastest time in the 100 breast this season, along with Top 10 times in the 200 breast and 200 IM.

The UW divers are paced by sophomore Karla Contreras, who finished in the top three in all three diving events last year.

Other Cowgirls who have posted Top 10 times in the MW this season are: senior Kelly Sheldon; juniors Isobel Ryan, Samantha Burke and Marcela Gramcko (200 back); sophomores Talita Te Flan and Daniele Luna Rocha; and freshman Hannah McLean-Leonard.

The MW Championship begins Wednesday and runs through Saturday.
