Big Piney

Big Piney has filled its head football coaching vacancy with the hiring of new-arrival Ryan Visser, who was approved by the Sublette County School District No. 9 board meeting on Tuesday evening. The hiring was first reported by wyoming-football.com on Wednesday.

Visser comes from Preston, Idaho, where he was born, graduated from, and served as assistant football coach for six seasons. Visser played running back for Preston in high school and coached in all three facets.

The Idaho native replaces former Big Piney head coach Aaron Makelky, who accepted the head coaching vacancy at Kelly Walsh in March.

Big Piney is coming off back-to-back playoff appearances, the program's first since 2010. In 2017 the Punchers had their first seven-win season since 2006 and advanced to the Class 2A semifinals.
