Lusk graduate Derick Vandebossche earned NAIA First-Team All-American honors, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Thursday. The Dickinson State senior defensive back was previously named first-team all-conference and a team captain before the season.

The former Tiger averaged just under six tackles per game this season and returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown. Dickinson State's season ended in the first round of the NAIA playoffs.

Vandebossche was a former Super 25 selection and three-time all-state honoree when he played for the Tigers. He was named Class 1A/11-Man Defensive Player of the Year at the conclusion of his junior year at Lusk.
