Outlook: Central has a stout defense, 4A's leading scorer in Tommy Swainson (23 goals) and eyes on improving on the silver they earned last year.

3W Kelly Walsh Trojans

Outlook: The Trojans hope last year's bronze finish gives them the experience and confidence they need to make a push toward the championship match this year.

2W Rock Springs Tigers

Outlook: The Tigers are the only team in 4A with multiple double-digit scorers (Eduardo Bravo, 19 goals and Luswin Trujillo, 13 goals). Goalkeeper Nic Kautzman gives them a strong defense to match.

3E Laramie Plainsmen

Outlook: The Plainsmen still have seven experienced players from the 2016 team that won gold and hope to find their groove again this weekend.

Outlook: Natrona County was within overtime of knocking off Central in the quarterfinals last year and looks to build off the consolation championship they earned there.

1W Rock Springs Tigers

Outlook: The Tigers have 4A's leading scorer in Alyssa Bedard (30 goals) and one of the state's best goalkeepers in Alyssa Vigil, making them a contender this weekend.

4E Gillette Camels

Outlook: The reigning champions stumbled at points this year, but they are back and have championship experience their opponents do not.

2E Cheyenne Central Indians

Outlook: Central's two losses this year came against No. 1 Thunder Basin, both of them battles. As long as the Tribe has Makyleigh Howard (23 goals) they remain a contender.

3W Kelly Walsh Trojans

Outlook: The Trojans have been here many times before with no results since 2009. They have the talent throughout their lineup to end that this weekend.

2W Jackson Broncs

State championships/most recent: 7/2016 (all in Class 3A)

Outlook: The Broncs overcame a slow start with a 12-game unbeaten streak before the loss to Rock Springs in the regional title match. So they'll come in with confidence and ambition.

3E Laramie Plainsmen

Outlook: Lexi Pulley leads the Plainsmen into the state tournament with 19 goals and Sekoya Romero is just behind with 17, making Laramie a threat to score at all times.

Outlook: Improved from last season and back in the tournament again, the Fillies rely on an athletic defense to make them a candidate for pulling off an upset.
