Chris Nielsen will take over as the new girls soccer coach at Green River, the school announced in a release Thursday night. The hiring is pending school board approval.

"Chris is familiar with the girls' soccer program and has been a tremendous asset to our school district as a teacher and coach for several years," Green River activities director Tony Beardsley said in a release. "Coach Nielsen has a positive vision for the team and he is extremely excited to start working with the team."

Nielsen replaces Tracy Wyant, who stepped down in July after leading the Wolves for eight seasons.
