Star Valley’s Asefa Wetzel finished 8th in the 5,000-meter run Friday at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Greensboro, North Carolina. Wetzel posted a time of 14 minutes, 46.73 seconds to win the first section. Robbie Cozean of Xavier Track Club in Connecticut won the race with a time of 14:26.18.

Wetzel also ran on the Star Valley sprint medley relay team that finished 30th with a time of 3:40.11. Joining Wetzel on the team were Peter Visser, Dean Shaw and Wyatt Moore.
