Kelly Walsh sophomore Danilynn Schell dives for a ball during the Trojans’ game against Green River on Sept. 14 in Casper.

Kelly Walsh rising senior Danilynn Schell announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that she has committed to play volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

“I’m excited and humbled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay,” she wrote. “Thank you to my coaches and teammates for pushing me into the athlete I am today! Also, thank you (Green Bay) for this opportunity!”

Schell, a three-time all-state volleyball player for the Trojans, enters her senior season this fall. She’s started in all of her years at Kelly Walsh, helping the Trojans achieve back-to-back state championships. Back in April, her Kelly Walsh classmate Corin Carruth announced her commitment to play volleyball at Wyoming.

Last year Wisconsin-Green Bay won the Horizon League Championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament, where the Phoenix was swept in the first round by No. 6 Wisconsin.
