By the start of the final day of the 2019 United States Marine Corps Junior Nationals there were no Wyomingites left standing. Of the 33 total wrestlers the Cowboy State sent to Fargo, North Dakota, for the Greco-Roman portion of the tournament not one made placement and just four finished with winning records.
Cody Pinkerton of Douglas and Parker Schlater of Moorcroft both went 3-2 throughout the Greco-Roman tournament to hold the best records of those Wyomingites competing in that division. Pinkerton also finished 3-2 in the freestyle division while Schlater finished 2-2 in that portion earlier this week.
Coy Trainer (Lovell), Josh Kraus (Kelly Walsh), Kevin Anderson (Kelly Walsh), Seth Horton (Powell) and Yahav Shraiber (Natrona County) all finished their time in Fargo with 2-2 records in Greco-Roman. Boe Clayson (Burns), Kendall Cummings (Evanston), Lane Jackson (Kelly Walsh), Reese Osborne (Sheridan) and Rowdy Pfeil (Moorcroft) all scored one win before getting eliminated. Cash Christensen (Rock Springs), Kole Kraus (Kelly Walsh), Luke Goncalves (Worland), Mica Herrera (Moorcroft), Payton Tucker (Green River), Quinton Hecker (Lovell), Seth Dewitt (Wheatland) and Tonka Lytle (Rocky Mountain) all also competed in the Greco-Roman tournament but failed to secure a victory.

Moorcroft’s Charmayne Delong, the only Wyomingite still in freestyle competition at the end of the Tuesday, was eliminated before placing in the women’s freestyle competition.
The Wyoming contingent in the U.S. Marine Corps Under-16 Nationals finished with similar results. Cody Phelps of Pinedale and Lyman’s Sefton Douglass were the only two to finish with winning records at 3-2. Charlee Thomson (Wright) and Hayden Crow (Sheridan) both finished 2-2 in that Greco-Roman division. Pinedale’s Keegan Gehlhausen and Thermopolis’ Wyatt McDermott both secured wins before being eliminated. Cole Wirtz (Natrona County), Connor Vickrey (Kemmerer), Garrett Marker (Kelly Walsh), Jessie Smith (Natrona County), Nathaniel Boreen (Riverside), Randy Peters (Moorcroft) and Stetson Davis (Powell) all wrestled but did not score wins in the Greco-Roman division.
