Tarleton State's Brody Cress hold tight to Hippie Chick during his saddle bronc ride in the performances at the College National Finals Rodeo Wednesday evening, June 13, 2018.

Bull rider J.W. Harris scored a 92 on After All on Wednesday to leapfrog Cole Melancon in the average and win at the Cody Stampede. The only other cowboy to perform on Wednesday night and win in the average was bareback rider Gavin DeRose, who netted a 86 on Tip Off.

That officially brought the 2018 Cody Stampede to a close with DeRose and Harris as champions. Other champions included Tanner Brunner in steer wrestling, Rusty Wright in saddle bronc, Cooper Martin in tie-down roping and Taci Bettis in barrel racing. Casper College's Trey Yates became champion in team roping by heeling for Aaron Tsinigine.

Hillsdale's Brody Cress finished second in the average in the saddle bronc after scoring a 88.5 on Tuesday. That was just enough to sandwich him between brothers Rusty (89) and Ryder (88) Wright.

Wyoming native Clayton Savage came in fifth in the bull riding standings on the strength of his 86.5-point ride on Monday.

Some of those who competed could be found this weekend at the Calgary Stampede, which begins on Friday night and runs through July 15.
