Hillsdale's Brody Cress put himself in position to win his third consecutive saddle bronc title at Cheyenne Frontier Days on Friday at Frontier Park.

Cress won the semifinal round with an 88.5-point ride on Three Hills Rodeo's Final Feather to pocket nearly $3,000.

Also winning semifinals Friday were bareback bronc rider Will Lowe with an 87.5 on Three Hills Rodeo's Show Boat and barrel racer Cheyenne Wimberley with a 17.21-second run. Bull riders Garrett Smith and Parker McCown tied for the win.

In the tournament-style format in place this year, the top finishers in each event advance from the quarterfinals into the semifinals, with the top 6 moving on to Sunday's finals.
