Frontier Days Rodeo

Tyler Nelson rides Fabio in the bareback event Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo championships.

The 99th installment of the Cody Stampede begins Sunday in Cody following Saturday night’s Xtreme Bulls. Last year’s champions in bareback, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping and barrel racing return in 2018 to defend their titles. Only Dustin Bowen (bull riding) and Jesse Wright (saddle bronc) will not return to this year’s Cody Stampede.

Performances for the Stampede go from Sunday at 8 p.m. to Wednesday night at 5 p.m. Gates open two hours prior to performances.

Tyler Nelson (bareback), Kyle Irwin (steer wrestling), Kaleb Riggers and Jr. Nogueira (team roping), Sterling Smith and Caleb Smidt (tie-down roping) and Tammy Fischer (barrel racing) will all be among the 773 contestants entered in this year’s rodeo.

Three-time PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year Frontier Rodeo will once again serve as stock contractor. Wyoming natives Dusty Tuckness and Nate Jestes will serve as bullfighters alongside Cody Webster after participating in the Xtreme Bulls on Saturday night.

The Star-Tribune will provide daily results during the rodeo.
