Former Sheridan College cowboy and 2016 world champion Zeke Thurston grabbed the lead in the saddle bronc riding average at Cheyenne Frontier Days on Sunday.

Thurston leads the second round after an 84.5-point ride on Sankey Pro Rodeo's Shining Mountain and sits atop the average with a two-head score of 159.5 points.

Also Sunday, Lane McGehee moved to the top of the bareback bronc riding standings after an 85 on Stace Smith Pro Rodeos' Witchy Woman, which gives him 166 on two head. McGehee was the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo champ at Sam Houston State.

Yoder's Clayton Savage had a no-score in bull riding Sunday but still is second in the first round and the average with an 85.
