At the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo, a bull bucked Bradie Gray -- a Hallsville, Australia cowboy competing for Odessa College -- and stepped on his chest. Gray initially stood up under his own power but had to be carried out of the Casper Events Center. He arrived at the hospital with no pulse, collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a broken sternum, a bruised aorta and a 40 percent chance to live, according to doctors at Wyoming Medical Center.

He was released from the hospital 20 days later.
