Seth Hardwick from Ranchester took the lead in the bareback bronc riding average Tuesday at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo.

Hardwick, who sits second in the first go-round with an 85.5-point ride, scored 81 points Tuesday to give him 166.5 points on two head. Lane McGehee, the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo champ, is second with a 166.0.

Also Tuesday, former Eastern Wyoming College cowboy Riley Pruitt had a 10.9-second run in tie-down roping to take the lead in the aggregate with a two-run time of 21.8.

Former Sheridan College cowboy and 2016 saddle bronc riding world champ Zeke Thurston maintained his lead in the average with a 159.5.

In team roping, Casper father-son combo Jhett and Kellan Johnson remained second in the second go with a time of 7.6.

The rodeo continues through Sunday.
