One of Casper’s newest small businesses is finding its footing with help from a longtime downtown staple and a family working together to turn homemade chocolate treats into something more.
Cocoa Batches is a family affair for Hannah Barrett, left, her mother Tammy Stoops, center, and her sister Alex Stoops. The trio was selling (mostly) chocolate-themed desserts outside Sherrie’s Place, where Tammy Stoops has been a server for a quarter-century, on Oct. 7, 2026.
Casper-based homemade dessert stand Cocoa Batches is the brainchild of Hannah Barrett, 29, who came up with the idea in the spring. She started selling cocoa-focused baked goods around May with some help from her mother and often sells the treats outside Sherrie’s Place on 2nd Street, as she did on Oct. 7, 2026.
Tammy Barrett’s baking business, Cocoa Batches, looks like a professional outfit already despite less than a year of sales. That’s helped in part by custom T-shirts made by Barrett’s sister-in-law, modeled by Barrett, right, and her son, Ben, on Oct. 7, 2026.
Mother-daughter duo Tammy Stoops and Hannah Barrett said one of their favorite treats from their baking business, Cocoa Batches, is the no-bake cookie, pictured center left, on Oct. 7, 2026.
Cocoa Batches, seen outside Sherrie’s Place on 2nd Street on Oct. 7, 2026, is a family-run dessert pop-up shop that specializes in chocolate-centric desserts and the occasional seasonal treat, like their current pumpkin cookie.
